Person’s Goals reveals his Character

One of our Guest Bloggers perspective:  Goals reveal’s a person’s charater …….

Goals Character1It is that time of the year. Some are wondering how 2013 passed by very quickly. Some are reflecting on how effectively they spent the last year. How much have they grown or how much are they lagging behind their expectations. Some are busy jotting down their goals for 2014. Some are unaffected. Years come and go; they choose to go with the flow.

Anyway, if you have planned goals for this year, I have something important to share with you. Even if you do not have specific goals for the course of this year, we all want something at every point in life. Most of us are wired that way.

Do you give enough thought on what you truly want to do? Or are you just playing around. For example, there are people wanting to learn guitar because they think it is cool to play a guitar. There are people wanting to hit the gym because their neighbours seem divinely motivated to work out. There are people who travel so that they brag about their experiences to others. Is this your definition of setting goals? Or are you being fair to yourself and to life and are accountable for it?

A person’s goals reveals a lot about his character, his deepest desires, his longings and what he feels to be his purpose in life. Let us peek into the process of goal setting.

  1.      You get into deep introspection.
  2.      You set a goal.
  3.      You reach out for the required resources.
  4.      You get into the process of achieving it.
  5.      You are brave enough to ask for required help.
  6.      You reach it.
  7.      You are not the same person that you were at the step one.Goals mossion value

Now, it is not the fulfilment of the goal that brings joy. Real joy is when you look back and see how much you have grown internally in the process. How much it has altered and moulded your personality. How far have you reached in becoming what you want to be. What kind of person were you when you began and what are you at the end. Fulfilment of the goal gets you high temporarily but it is this realization that brings you joy that doesn’t fade away with time, it becomes a part of you and becomes one of the many things that define you. So goals are very personal for they have the capability to strike chords in your deep inside.

What happens when you do not resonate with your goal? You might give up for the smallest of obstacles. You might not feel empowered enough to reach the destination. Your focus might shift and you might not want to achieve it any longer. You might hate yourself for fooling around. Waste of time and effort, isn’t it?

David Nair taught me how to set the right goals. I ask myself questions like why am I doing this? Where did I get this desire from? What does this mean to me deeply? How is this related to the entity that I am in the inside?  Will it bring out my capabilities and let go of my limitations? Will this help me evolve to become that that I want to be? Ask questions that mean to you goals who U becomepersonally. Reflect on what, why, when of it, the universe will take care of the how. And you would be amazed to see how you just flow through the entire process crossing the obstacles, overcoming the limitations, effortlessly.

Reflective thought on Goal Setting

images[1]I was on a Skype call early this week with a few past participants who were wanting reassurances on what they have done with their goals for 2013 and whether they were on track with it The conversation was taped and this was the transcript that was sent to me yesterday…. Thought I would put this on open forum as it could be of help to some…. Check it out……

  • Men / Women who have goals & plans dictate to others, while Men / Women, who have no goals or plans, are dictated to.
  • Basic Natural Law of the Universe – “Anything you can think of and believe in, you can achieve.” / “Believing in the Key.” Therefore it’s imperative we build our Belief Factor.
  • Quit thinking about the reasons why you “can’t” do something and think of all the reasons why you “can.”
  • True success avoids extremes! It is a journey. It is a gradual process. In this journey of Up’s & Down’s, RELAX, HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THE JOURNEY. Be surprised how fast the results are on hand.
  • The three elements to success:

Direction – setting your sights on the things that are worthwhile in life and then establishing a plan to continuously work towards their fulfilment and accomplishment.

Balance – Keeping the proper perspective about every area of your life. Staying in harmony with nature’s law which produces perfect balance. Balance in all things brings about happiness.

Belief – No man / women will become successful, who does not possess belief. The greater his / her belief – the greater his / her degree of success. Successful Man / Women are believers.

  • As Emerson has repeated mentioned, “A man is what he thinks about all day long”. Similarly, when we fervently believe, and act upon our belief with all our heart, the inevitable is just round the corner.
  • The Law of Cause & Effect…. “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. “ Holds so true in Goal setting…. It is imperative for congruency to be at the helm of this process, in mind & action.
  • As you sow, so shall you reap?”
  • Remember the paddy field story.(will be released in this blog shortly)
  • Most of us try to change other people. To achieve our goals, we do not need to change others, instead, OTHERS CHANGE AS WE CHANGE OUR THOUGHTS ABOUT THEM, thus accelerating the process in achieving the goal.
  • Only three percent, of all people have goals and plans and write them down. Interesting these three precent always drives the ninth seven percent, who end up being followers.
  • Remember as we stubble through working on our goal, “Out of every adversity comes an equal or greater opportunity”, the next round the corner is what we should focus our thoughts and activity. – This never fails.
  • It is better to aim your arrow at a Star and hit an Eagle, than to aim your arrow at an Eagle and hit a Stone.
  • Two can accomplish more than twice as much as one, for the results can be much better. If one falls, the other pulls him up, but if a man falls when he is alone, he’s in trouble.

Closing true story on how goals were set by the then youngest president in 1960, President J F Kennedy. He with a few days of taking office addressed the nation, announcing the beginning of a Ten year space program designed to put a man on the moon. Mind you when this announcement was made there was no Apollo mission, NASA was at its infancy, and this young bold president boldly says, “we will put a man on the moon by the turn of the decade”…. that is within 10 years.

What and how did they do it? The process for the space program took shape as follows:

(1)   A Goal was set.

(2)   A Plan was made.

(3)   A Firm Target was established.

(4)   Group Thinking was employed.

(5)   Everyone kept the Goal constantly in Mind.

(6)   Action was applied.

(7)   They fervently kept their Faith.

The Result – It was impossible for NASA to fail – Neil Armstrong landed on the moon on July 1969. The rest is history.

Now if the President of America & United States believes in Goal setting and in working out simple steps as detailed above, you & I can do the same.

Have fun as you dig through the process!!!!!!

Law of Attraction

When I was spending some me time last night, after a few conference calls to associates, extracts from the book THE SECRET was running through me and it went this way.

One of the critical steps to the Law of Attraction is visualizing exactly what you want. All of the experts interviewed agree – the more precisely you visualize – the better the Law of Attraction works.

But the opposite is true as well. The less you visualize, the less noticeable the results.

And even worse for most folks – if you are unable to visualize exactly what you want, the Law of Attraction can give you the opposite of what you desire and you never see the results you want.

I do not know about you, but this is an extremely frightening thought. It is like in the movie Armageddon, where the meteoroid is head towards earth and all effort is used to deflect it from the gravity pull into earth. Once that opposite force is there and it is greater than gravity, it will deflect the meteoroid, and never will it touch earth.

The law of attraction does it the same way, if we do not have it visualized (like most folks – 95% of people), then the LAW OF ATTRACTION WILL DEFLECT IT AND YOU WILL NEVER SEE THE RESULT YOU WANT.

First, we will need to know what we need to visualize, therefore the importance of SETTING GOALS. We do not need to wait for a New Year to start setting goals. We start today, when the idea is planted in our mind to do and achieve something. Although we are moving in March 2013, (2 months off 2013 is gone). It does not matter, it’s not too late and I think we are adults to recognize and realize the importance of this process. We can again, leave it as a low priority and work or something else and completely loose on the opportunity described above and work that double hard trying, to make ends meet, or do something that is different for our change and benefit.

For those who need help please do not hesitate to contact david nair on dvnair@eth.net For the participants who have come to my programs, please do not send your goals to the Yahoo groups that we have established for your team. These goals are not for all to see in the public forum.

I take this opportunity to wish you and your family a belated Happy & Prosperous New 2013 Year.

Make it your year for Dynamism.
