‘Get out of there’ – A Preventive Self Talk for the Genesis of a Downward Spiral

How often do we belittle ourselves? Talk ourselves down, let others berate us in one form or another.

I am not good? I am not beautiful? I am not smart? I do not know. I am black? I am white? I am olive? I am cappuccino?

Whatever the Derogation, STOP, STOP, STOP… that immediately.

What I have learnt in my 3 decades of work in this arena – THE OPPOSITE IS TRUE.

There is innate creativity flowing through you, and if you let it out, you will be surprised and delighted at what the outcome would be. Many do not understand this – each of us is tapped into the creative flow of energy in the #Universe – #THEFLOW.

At this stage only a handful have been able to unshield themselves for that backpack that they are carrying to express themselves more creatively from the stance of #possibilitythinking rather than #probabilitythinking. A total switch in the form of conditioning the brain, to follow that FLOW. This needs repeated practices for this skill to be mastered, and you then are in the driver’s seat of controlling your Brain

We start a new chapter in our life every day. Compilation of our daily chapters creates the #tapestry of our #Life. Our unique talents and abilities are reflected in our outcomes. It is unfortunate, many of us had well-meaning adults in our life that stifle or in some cases beat that creativity out of us when we were children.

I had a teacher who once told me I would not amount to anything in life and that I will not be able to address any group of people, as I was so #timid, #shy, and #lackedconfidence. Little did she know, in the early two thousand, I had the honour and privilege of addressing 45000 people in an open-air stadium, in North India. ‘Sock it up Teacher’ is what went through my mind and as one of my mentors added fuel with the comment ‘revenge is sweet,’ it is like pure honey oozing out of a working bee.

Many are fearful of the unknown – we were taught the “3 R’s” reading, writing and arithmetic, but not taught how to take a leap in faith, into the unknown to venture for where the reassures of life are hidden.

When you understand the Laws of the universe, how it operates and works in line with its energy you will be surprised by what can be manifested. It is an art to learn to align oneself with THE FLOW

Coupled with #faith when a purpose or path is laid before you, you have the choice to just trust and let it flow or remain stuck in fear. Trusting that power within you is the key. In the first instance, yes, it is traumatic and frightening. Repeating this a number of times would break that barrier of fear and slowly but surely will allow for proficiency to take over and thereafter it becomes second nature. We swing into autopilot mode and wonder why it took us that long to deep dive and master this skill.

To support and complement the above, the following #affirmations will help.

Here are some empowering affirmations you can use to express creativity:

Every day in every way my life is getting better and better.

Every day I do …. (Insert what you planned to do, Something new or different).

All creative projects bring enamours satisfaction

I am talentedand in demand

I am unique and appreciated by those around me especially those I love most.

I feel good expressing myself in all sorts of creative ways.

I create miracles in my life.

Step up, do not be selfish, share yourself with the world as it is waiting for you.

What is your Purpose in Life?

Benefits of Living a Purpose Driven Life.

Dexter Yager, a Multilevel Marketer, Crown Ambassador with the Amway Corporation, made this comment in the mid sixty’s “If your dream is big enough, The Facts don’t count.” In the same vein, I would go on to say, “If your Why is Big enough, The Facts don’t Count.”

Your Why will drive you to achieve whatever it is you want, out of life, no matter what life throws at you. Because of that Why, you will work through that task filled with passion, commitment dedication and gusto, ensuring the end is met, not in any other way but in an extraordinary way.

“When Your Why is Clear,

Your What, When, Where, Who, and How falls into Place.” -David Nair

A Definite Major Purpose (DMP), is the panacea to life’s concerns, issues, turmoil, turbulence etc. I feel it is the cure-all and the prime driver for a person, from the simplest act of bouncing out of bed on a Monday morning to go to work, to, resolving the more complex matters that life throws at us.

A Purpose Driven life will help in the following areas:

Keep the person focused on the main thing, being the main thing. Such dogged determination helps a person find their direction and not be swayed by distractions, hence staying on the main thing being the main thing — Their Goal.

It helps in generating your passion towards achieving the required outcome for that goal. This becomes the fuel in pushing you towards extraordinary performance rather than a mediocre average outcome.

People with a DMP, become unstoppable in their mission, whilst those without a purpose would be meandering through life from pillar to post, with dissatisfied outcomes through that journey.

Interesting enough, purpose-driven people have a different aura around them. Their forebrain is immersed in that purpose, such that the decisions, thoughts and feelings and actions are all around that purpose. They walk, talk, and sleep the purpose, hence encouraging a feeling of gratefulness.

It is understood, their purpose enables them to not just have values, instead have high values, and at the same time enhance their level of empathy for others. It also becomes surprising to observe, the type and standard of goals they tend to set and achieve at a different plane. They tend to draw like-minded people.
A purpose-driven person is clear on who he/she is, what they are about, and why are they on this planet. It helps them live a life with Integrity.
This purpose-driven person will portray an increase in their synchronicity towards their Life. They tend to live a holistic life, ensuring its well balanced. The serendipity within themselves reflects an aura that others get drawn towards. This becomes a cornerstone of their build of trust and faith in their community. By so doing, they reflect, living a life of grace.
It is understood, the roll-on from this built holistic person with grace comes “FLOW.” The universal stream of consciousness, commonly referred to as “they roll with the flow.”Hence nothing deters them, they do not fright to achieve, they challenge themselves to strengthen themselves instead of being fearful.

As Purpose is part of their life, therefore they live every moment of it to the fullest with enthusiasm and passion. Pleasure becomes part of their life; hence they are better at tackling every situation that comes to them in a creative way. They are always able to see the good in any situation when they are driven with a Definite Major Purpose.

The above, as so succinctly put by the German poet, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe:

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness.”

When you commit to living your life with a purpose, the world becomes your oyster — amazing things happen.

Wealth = Money?

What a Misnomer!!!!!!

Does being wealthy, mean being rich, bank accounts overflowing with money, multiple cars, and properties, and being materially free of the woes and tribulation that surround normal living?

A definite No, or should I be emphatic and say one thousand No’s.

How many have heard of situations, where a person has either won a lottery, inherited money legally or illegally and within a short span of time they have lost it all? They are back to point Zero

Ever thought, why does this happen?

I am here to add salt to the wound by saying: You are exactly where you need to be!!!!

Some might rebuff and say “how unkind of you David?

How could you say that?

I worked all my life, and this is what I got to show?”

It is akin to Anthropology, the study of what makes us human. Anthropologists take a broad approach to understand the many distinct aspects of the human experience, which we call holism. They consider the past, through archaeology, to see how human groups lived hundreds or thousands of years ago and what was important to them.

Anthropologists study the origin, development, and behaviour of humans. They examine the cultures, languages, and physical characteristics of people in various parts of the world.

Similar with the Anthropology of Wealth

Our aim is to help demystify this concept of wealth. What I am referring to here is not a six, eight or ten-step model to financial independence, a quick buck made here, a wham bang one-night stand, approach to financial independence. Short term approaches to wealth accumulation as has been proven by millions out there is not the approach.
Instead, a WAPapproach, (Wealth Action Plan) that is sustainable and with contingency in place is the logical approach, which is what my Uncle John, my Business Coach shared with me to get me to where I am in my wealth portfolio. Today,I am playing that forward to help those interested in stepping up, in their accumulation of Wealth.

Wealth accumulation starts with the person being a student, they come to the table with an unfilled cup. It further takes Time, Resource and Nurturing as is the case with: –

  1. Baking a Cake – it takes more than a split second after the ingredients is mixed for the cake to be baked.
  2. Curd – Sour Cream is not edible immediately on mixing the ingredients, it takes at least 24 hours for fermentation to set the curd.
  3. Gestation period for a Baby –9 months for a normal birth.

When a client comes up to me with this idea of making Rs 1Cr (10 million Rupees – approx. US $ 150k) in a year, without any resource, capital, or mental space, not prepared to work through the process due to lack of discipline & commitment, I encourage them to find another coach. The “Know-it-all tribe” with minimal experience or the tribe that has not done the walk but pontificate about amassing wealth. You know what space they are at. Unless their Neuroplasticity, their environment, their vibes, their vibrations are in sync, no amount of information and support will help them achieve their outcome.

There are myriads of stories of people who have gone to a financial consultant, who showed them how to prepare a Cash Flow or a budget or to cut their spending or to start saving.

On returning what did those people do? Did they work on that plan? In most cases, none of the above change processes suggested was worked on. Why? Have they caught the right train to help them Step Up in their journey to wealth accumulation-to provide them with that comfort of amassing Wealth? Follow us on our Social Media Channels to see what we do? How do we do it? When do we do it? Timing is crucial.

Two primarily components that contribute towards a person’s wealth are Tangible and Intangible. We will address these in detail in future WEALTH SERIES.

For me to attain Tangible Financial Independence by my thirties, my coachers first drove me to fill my cup of intangible wealth to its brim, better still, till it overflowed.

This is what we will be sharing in our Wealth Series Video, Podcast, Post, Blogs, Online Courses, F2F workshop sessions and Live events.

Always remember:

YOUR WEALTH accumulated is a direct proportion to WHERE YOU ARE IN LIFE today.

Hence if you are not in a good space, go fix that first. Your Physical, Mental and Emotional well-being, otherwise you stand to lose a chunk of Tangible Wealth.

Never invest based on an emotion, or to prove a point. Instead, base it on proper research.

A case at point:
Just prior to the Pandemic, there was a person who had worked significantly hard during 2019and had accumulated a substantial amount of disposable income, 15 Lakh of Rupees (US$ 30K). With help from family, an investment into a property was made, without consideration of future inflow of disposal income. In 2020 when their inflow pot went dry with Zero inflow of Income, the financial institution was requesting for its overdue repayment be made to the loan.
When repayment was not forthcoming, the next option taken by the institution was to foreclose on the property. It is a known fact whenever there is a financial institution foreclosure, that individual does not get what they originally paid for the property. Hence a substantial loss was incurred. This was harder to digest as it was this individual first property. Coupled with that their credit rating went for a toss.

What this individual had to do before the purchase, was to ensure there was solid cash inflow for future repayments, rather than live a hand to mouth existence to meet repayments and to ensure a contingency plan was in place in the event of a drop in cash inflow. Never rely on Luck, with the hope money will flow in. If the above-suggested steps were adhered to, prior to the purchase, it would have stood out that, the proposed investment was not a viable option at that moment in time. Instead of purchasing a property, the available disposable income could be channelled into a liquid assets investment.
If this were done, they would still have had that capital with a good gain — (ROI) return on that investment. The necessary time, proper research, and guidance from a good wealth of coaching would have helped make a better decision. Cardinals to follow — avoid impulse and emotionally buying.

Another case on hand:

I had the privilege of being asked to work with up-and-coming young executives from the IT, Banking, Pharma and Hospitality industries, who were hired by top MNC in India and paid a top-end salary. These executives had never previously experienced such high-level inflow of cash, into their bank accounts. Hence what did they do with their high disposable income? Spend it unwisely, in a lot of cases on drugs and alcohol. These executives were the top performers in their domain of expertise. HR heads in those companies who were concerned about the direction these executives were heading, had reached out for help to resolve this concern.

Their prime concern was how could we rechannel their wasteful spending. We commenced working with Multiple groups of such executives redirecting their energies and creating a disciplined spending process for them to follow. Proud to say, many of them took on the options provided for them to shift gears and scale-up in life. From those batches we worked with, I personally knew of 28 individuals who acquired financial stability as Crorepati(Rs 10M club)Over a period of 3 to 5 years, some of these executives amassed net worth in excess of 1 Cr by the time they got the to early ’30s. making them eligible bachelors and spinsters (Nudge, nudge say no more)

Friends, this is a brief introduction to our new domain of work – “Wealth Series” Video, Podcast, Post, Blogs, Online Courses, MastermindSessions, F2F workshop sessions and Live events.

Deepavali / Diwali and its significance

What is Diwali?

Diwali, the festival of lights, signifies the victory of good over evil and the eradication of dark shadows, negativity, and doubts from our lives. It is a celebration of prosperity, in which people give gifts to their loved ones.

Festival of Lights

Diwali, the five-day Festival of Lights, is celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains across the world. The word Diwali comes from the Sanskrit word Diwali, meaning rows of lighted lamps. Houses, shops, and public places are decorated with small oil lamps called divas.

Why is Diwali celebrated?

The true essence of Diwali symbolizes how purity, love, and devotion are the antidote to any impurities, negativity, or toxicity when Lord Ram& Queen Sita return to Ayodhya {state of India} after 14 years of banishment and overcame their banishment from Ravana{symbol of evil}. On Diwali night, most Hindus offer prayers to Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, and Ganesh, the god representing good fortune and wisdom for the coming year.

What are the 5 days of Diwali?

The five-day long festival of joy and prayer starts with Dhanteras, followed by Naraka Chaturdasi, Lakshmi Puja, Govardhan Puja and culminates with Bhai Doo. The date for this festival is set in accordance with Hindu and the lunar calender

What is done for Diwali?

During Diwali, people wear their finest clothes, illuminate the interior and exterior of their homes with divas and rangoli, perform worship ceremonies of Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity and wealth, light fireworks, and partake in family feasts, where mithai (sweets) and gifts are shared.

What are the beliefs and True Essence of Diwali?

One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.

Why use the Diya, an oil lamp compared to our normal gleaming lights, that we use for other celebrations. For this, let’s drill down into the term Deepavali, which literally means a series or a row of lights that are all connected to one another by the simple Diya. (‘Dipa’ means lamp; ‘aavali’ means series or row of lights). How are they all connected? Through the humble Diya– the little earthen vessel that represents the five elements; earth, fire, sky, air, and water.

The element of Earth is represented in the composition of the Diya, oil, and cotton wick. Fire is represented in the light of the Diya. The sky is represented in the light around the flame and the space in which the Diya lies, i.e., the space around the earth. The element of Airis the oxygen diffused from air to the wick causing it to burn. The element of Water is the H2O molecules formed after the combustion of oil, the by-product of burning.  So, when we light the oil lamp on Diwali, we represent the constitution of the universe – right at our doorstep. Magnificently portrayed.

The lighting of the lamp leads to the annihilation of darkness. Deepavali is a Festival of Lights hence the celebration firstly of the rise of Knowledge and secondly the celebration of the victory of the Sattvic or divine elements in us over the Rajasic and Tamasic or baser elements which are the real Asuras {evil spirits, demons, and opponents of God} and the Rakshasas, {demons} within us.

For the oil lamp to burn, its wick must be soaked in the oil with a bit protruding out of the oil. If the wick of the lamp is drowned in oil, it cannot be lit. Life is also like a wick of the lamp, one must be in the world and yet remain unconsumed by it. If one drowns in the materialism of the world, bringing joy and knowledge in life is limited.

Finally, the Diya burns itself, to provide light and joy to others. Similarly, Celebration is incomplete, without Seva {Selfless service}towards others.
